About do life
Every day, we’re faced with choices—some big, some small. Whether it’s a decision that shapes our career, our wellbeing, or even just how we spend our day, each choice sends ripples through our lives, impacting our happiness, our success, and our relationships. True growth isn’t just about the major, life-altering decisions; it’s about mastering those everyday choices that set us on the path to a fulfilling life and complete well-being.
At its core, do life is about empowering people to take control of those life decisions. Our personal development and wellbeing memberships are designed to help you thrive in every aspect of life—whether you’re an individual looking to enhance your personal growth, a company seeking to boost employee wellbeing and productivity, or an institution supporting student success.
Through bite-sized micro-courses, emotional intelligence tools, and a wealth of content, tools and other resources, do life equips you with the knowledge and support to make better choices every day. And, we believe you should be rewarded for investing in yourself and your future—that’s why our memberships come with exclusive benefits, rewards, and tools tailored to your personal and professional growth journey.
At do life, we’re here to help you make the decisions that lead to a life of growth, fulfilment, and success—whether that’s at home, at work, or in the classroom.
A word from the founder of do life:
From the get-go, I’ve been wired with this thirst for knowledge, a craving to crack the code of the world’s mysteries. Sure, I had a decent start in life, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing. In my youth and being from a small town, concepts like emotional intelligence, awareness and personal growth were the stuff of science fiction. This societal stigma handed me some curveballs later in life that kinda put a damper on my complete well-being as a human being. I had to navigate difficult times and some stormy waters on my own, which, let me tell you, came with its share of life dues. Don't we all wish that life sometimes had a returns policy for our choices?
Now, diving into law, finance, and then education wasn’t just me flipping through the career catalogue. Each step was a chapter in the school of hard knocks. Law honed my knack for tackling puzzles, finance gave me a peek into the business jungle, but education? That’s where the light bulb flicked on about making a dent in the universe's problems. Yet, through it all, I was wrestling with my own shadows. It took a deep dive into self-reflection to realize how those day-to-day choices stack up, shaping our journey for better or worse.
I’ve had my moments, riding high on success by the world’s playbook as I hit my stride in the 30s and 40s. But let’s be real—those wins often meant my wellbeing took a backseat. It dawned on me that the so-called small missteps weren’t just trivial; they were the breadcrumbs leading me away from what truly mattered. I was overlooking the simple, daily decisions that could’ve been game changers.
Two big lessons emerged from this saga: the power of emotional smarts and the art of choice, and the undeniable value of wisdom from those who’ve walked before us. In this whirlwind world, especially in places where the deck seems stacked against folks, it’s tough to play a winning hand. Seeing young minds struggle to navigate this, to miss the forest for the trees on how pivotal their choices are, struck a chord with me.
That’s what sparked the “do life” movement alongside some brilliant minds. Think of it as a mash-up of life’s syllabus, from emotional intelligence to the nuts and bolts of living well, all geared towards empowering people to make choices that lift them up. We were on the brink of redefining wellness, then bam—life threw us a curveball with the pandemic and economic headwinds. When the going got tough, my team had to bow out, but I couldn’t let it go. I cashed in my chips, quit the cushy salaried life and took a leap of faith to breathe life into this dream full-time. I’m all in, betting on the transformative power of “do life” to light up paths not just for me, but for anyone eager to navigate life’s waters with a little more wisdom and a lot more heart.
Our founder created the first iteration of the do life programme with a team of curriculum designers and subject experts. This beta version was a programme to mentor and coach working students in support of their personal wellbeing. When the time came for him to move on from the education institution, the only payment sought was the do life programme as it was his proverbial brain child that breemed with the potential to positively change the outcome of many lives.
The Founder formed the Do Group which invested in the development of the programme into a multifaceted complete wellbeing solution with multiple applications. The do life company (pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of the Do Group, is an independent privately owned, and funded company with no affiliation other than those we mention on our website.
We support our members with any membership, payment, platform (technical) and rewards questions and issues. The do life micro-courses are self-study and are easy and fun to do. All of our larger corporate and institutional customers have an account manager who is appointed to look after the relationship and their members. Individual members of a corporate group membership can still access any technical support directly from the support team.
See our Contact page for support emails.
We’re assembling a dream team of experts, mavericks in their own right, pioneers and masterminds to guide our next phase of growth. They are industry innovators, thought leaders, specialists, and psychologists, all uniting to form our independent council. What’s the game plan? To provide the knowledge and skills required to grow the do life well-being solution to achieve its mission. New additions to our do'visory council will be shared on our various platforms.
A do life membership in its core form is a new self-mentoring solution that combines everyday life lessons with an improved mindset and decision-making ability. Memberships include access to micro courses in various life categories and premium media content, resources and tools. Our membership also provides access to amazing benefits and rewards from the Do Group and our rewards partners. We have various offerings that are customised to the type of customer, so visit our solutions page for more detail.
There are two ways of becoming a do life member, if you want to buy a membership for yourself or someone else, navigate to the personal wellbeing membership page and choose the membership option that suits your needs and pocket.
The other option is through a corporate or institutional group membership. Group memberships are tailored to the business size and requirements.
Our do life micro course forms one pillar of our wellbeing solution. We believe that through using microlearning principles we can unpack and present learning opportunities to fit into people's busy lives. The micro-course can be completed on our learning management system which functions within our site. Based on your membership level you can navigate to a course and click start course. Once you have completed the course and its quiz you will receive a certificate to recognise the learning done.
Our programme is divided into the main categories we have set out to cover the complete wellbeing of a person. We develop new courses according to these main themes or categories. We also gather user feedback through our surveys on topics and ideas our members would like to see.
Our courses are designed using our proprietary development framework CEED - Concept, Elements, Elaborate, Do. Our courses are developed with subject matter specialists and people in practice to ensure we build on a strong foundation. Our do'visory council once fully constituted will oversee our microlearning programme and its courses, adding an extra layer of quality assurance.
